To avoid wasting time on a trip, you charge at ultra-fast chargers on the motorway during natural stops, and overnight once you reach your destination.
However, city charging points are often occupied or out of order, or in any case not necessarily close to the hotel; the best option is to choose a hotel with its own charging point, managed by the hotel, which is responsible for it.
In this podcast we talked about the fact that it is still hard to find accommodation with a charging point because even those who install one don’t advertise it properly, and very often don’t even update their website to list it as a service. And that’s a shame, because for people travelling electric it is usually the deciding factor when choosing one hotel over another of equal quality.
Fortunately things are moving. At the InOut hospitality trade fair in Rimini 2024 there were several companies supplying and manufacturing charging points specifically for hotels.
What’s more, EViaggio is not limited to hotels but covers anyone who makes a charging point available to their customers: the listings also include restaurants, shops, campsites and even wineries.
The podcast raised some interesting ideas about how people approach charging and also about how to improve the site.
