A new portal entirely dedicated to travellers who own an electric car has been launched: it is called EViaggio and it is 100% Italian.
When it comes to electric cars, we have genuinely tried to be impartial. We have talked about them often, praising their benefits and highlighting their drawbacks, with balance and wisdom. And yet we have failed miserably. Because we simply cannot hide our visceral love for electric cars, sustainable mobility and new technologies (on that note, you can read our utterly neutral article on why you should choose an electric car by clicking here).
That is why today we want to tell you about EViaggio: the new platform for those who travel by (electric) car.
The problem with electric cars
There is one thing we cannot turn a blind eye to: the availability of charging points across Italy for our electric cars’ batteries. While in everyday life EV owners rely on their usual trusted chargers (public or at home), things get considerably more complicated on long journeys. Before booking your holiday, in fact, you will have to plan your route according to the kilometres to be covered and the charging points you will be able to find along the way. When the area you are interested in is poorly served by charging infrastructure, the idea of giving up and hiring a more conventional car for your trip will cross your mind more than once.
The solution? Stay or stop at places of interest that have charging infrastructure.
What is EViaggio?
EViaggio welcomes you with: “Find the best destinations to recharge your batteries and your car’s”. Completely free of charge, you can search for places of interest in a given area that have a charger for your EV. You can also review these spots. You can add destinations and view important information about the infrastructure, such as compatibility with different cars, price, connector type and power output. Owners, meanwhile, can claim the destination and reply to users’ comments.
Not just hotels: on EViaggio you can also find restaurants, campsites and wineries, with a total of more than 1,300 destinations for electric car owners.
