But finding hotels, B&Bs or holiday homes with a working charging point is not always that easy. Here are the right tools so you never run out of charge.
HOW TO FIND HOTELS WITH A CHARGING POINT
Booking
Booking is one of the portals most used by travellers. Originally created as a hotel aggregator, it now also lists holiday apartments and villas, bed & breakfasts and hostels. People like Booking because it is secure, but also because it lets you narrow down your choice according to your most specific needs.
And for those travelling in an electric car, the portal recently added a new filter among the facilities offered by properties: electric vehicle charging station. Just tick the relevant box to get the full list of accommodation with charging points at your chosen destination.
Airbnb
Like Booking, Airbnb, the gig economy platform that lets you stay in homes made available by local people, has also added, among its filters, one designed for those travelling by EV. Before searching for accommodation, after entering your destination, travel dates and number of guests, just scroll through the filters to the section features and tick the option EV charger.
eViaggio
eViaggio is currently the most comprehensive Italian platform for finding hotels (and more) equipped with charging points. The portal was created precisely to help people who choose an electric car not to miss out on anything: hotels, gyms, restaurants, but also campsites, wineries and shopping centres. It is very easy to use: just choose your destination and the type of venue you are looking for to get a complete list and a clear map. The filters here are really specific, and you can also choose by the type of charging point you prefer.
