A few weeks ago a new platform was launched that will make travel easier for all Italians who have chosen to get around in their electric car: it is called EViaggio and it is the first website to collect and list accommodation where you can charge your zero-emission vehicle with confidence.
eviaggio.it, online since 1 August, was conceived by a computer engineer from Lombardy, Nicola Carlon, R&D manager at a company specialising in robotics, after experiencing first-hand all the shortcomings of the hospitality sector when it comes to the destination charger.
In fact, the site aims to bring together an ever-growing number of hotels and restaurants all over Italy, verified by users, to reliably address a widespread problem for those travelling by electric car: the inaccurate and often scant information about charging services among the amenities offered by accommodation providers.
How EViaggio works
EViaggio is a completely free website that aims to make it easier for those travelling by electric car to find hotels and restaurants with charging infrastructure.
To achieve this, the platform relies on the collaboration of users and owners: on the one hand it collects reviews from drivers on the features and accessibility of the charging points they have tested; on the other, it encourages property owners to add or claim their charging points on the site.
In this way, the platform enables the simple, “secure” and aggregated collection of useful information for electric car drivers (for example on the connector, the number of sockets and whether the service is free), preventing it from being scattered across other sites while also providing valuable support to the community of those who have chosen sustainable mobility for their daily journeys.
