The new platform makes its debut on the website of the same name, helping you discover all the properties that let guests charge an electric car, Tesla or otherwise
“It has happened to me far too many times that…”
That's how many EV drivers' stories might begin, as they grapple with charging points that are faulty, poorly signposted or unsuitable for charging a car.
In some respects the world of EVs is still a pioneering one, so cooperation and solidarity between drivers, enthusiasts and the curious are vitally important.
In this spirit of initiative, Nicola Carlon has devised and built a new platform, EViaggio (https://www.eviaggio.it), free, interactive and dynamic, to which everyone is invited to contribute: both owners of venues with charging points, by adding or claiming them, and users, by reviewing them and helping those travelling electric to do so without a hitch, quickly finding the nearest destination charger, whatever the make of their car. Carlon says:
“…looking for a hotel or a good restaurant with charging, only to discover that the charging point listed by the owner was actually in the public car park next to the property, or that by electric vehicle they only meant bicycles and e-scooters…”
As its creator himself states, the platform has a threefold aim: to make it easier to find venues suitable for charging stops, especially on long journeys; to gather useful information simply and in an orderly way, preventing it from being scattered across countless websites; and to encourage owners to install and/or improve the charging points at their properties.
Destinations can also include links to various websites, such as Nextcharge, Booking.com or Tripadvisor, to extend the reach of the network.
As mentioned, the platform is free and will stay that way, at least in the intentions of its founder, who is appealing to the EV community to help it grow, until it is no longer needed.
“All this in the hope that this site will soon become obsolete, because all managers of hotels, restaurants and other venues will have installed charging points”.
