Last week we brought you the figures on electric car sales in Europe, numbers that left no room for doubt: electric is winning over more and more motorists across the Old Continent day by day. In Italy too, at last, the market share of electric cars is growing strongly, although there is still a long way to go to close the gap with the most advanced European nations in this respect, above all the Scandinavian countries. Help could arrive today, however, thanks to a new platform devised by engineer Nicola Carlon, through which every motorist will be able to find out before setting off whether the hotel they have booked, or are about to book, has a charging point.
EViaggio.it, the website that tells you whether or not a hotel has a charging point
The official website that lets travellers know whether or not a hotel offers a charging point for electric cars is called EViaggio.it. Anyone can add their own experience, giving the hotel’s name and location and leaving a description of the type of infrastructure installed by the hoteliers.

Hotel managers can also answer users’ questions and update the information about the charging point. At present, the portal EViaggio.it already lists more than 1,300 destinations, a remarkable figure considering that the project has only recently gone online.
Booking and TripAdvisor lag behind
The idea of creating a platform like EViaggio came from the personal experience of engineer Nicola Carlon, who owns an electric car.
Relying almost always on Booking and TripAdvisor to book his trips, Carlon never found very precise information about charging point services: for this reason, wanting to find a solution to his own problem, he came up with a tool that lets anyone find out in advance, and in detail, all the information on whether or not a charging point is available.
